PYS In-Town

If you have any questions regarding our In-Town programs, please contact the appropriate Division Coordinator, as noted on our Board of Directors page under About.

Kindergarten (U6)

Our Kindergarten division is coed and designed to introduce our youngest players to the joy of soccer—while keeping the focus on fun!

Games take place once a week, usually on Saturday mornings, and last about an hour. The first 30 minutes are spent learning new skills through playful (and sometimes silly!) activities. The second half is all about game time, with kids playing in a fun 3v3 format.

And when the final whistle blows? Head straight to the snack bar for a well-earned Slush!

1st and 2nd Grade (U7-U8)

In 1st and 2nd grade, boys and girls play in separate divisions. Whenever possible, we place 1st graders (U7) and 2nd graders (U8) in their own divisions. If registration numbers are low, the age groups may be combined to ensure balanced teams, appropriate roster sizes, and quality Saturday matchups.

Teams practice 1–2 times per week, depending on the coach’s schedule, and play 1 hour games on Saturdays.

Saturday Game Days are designed to be both fun and competitive, but the main focus remains on building fundamental skills and learning the rules and flow of the game. Positions and goal keeping will be introduced at this stage.

Our Game Managers help oversee matches, introducing officiating in a supportive way. Scores and standings are not recorded—keeping the emphasis on player development and enjoyment.

3RD AND 4TH GRADE (U10)

Our U10 division is an exciting stage to watch! While players are still developing their technical skills, they’re also gaining a stronger understanding of the game and starting to make impressive plays on the field.

During the Fall season, U10 teams compete in our In-Town League at Hobomock Fields, playing on larger U10 fields with licensed referees. This gives players their first real taste of competitive soccer and helps prepare them for the Coastal Youth Soccer League in the Spring.

Teams typically practice two evenings per week, with specific days and times set by each coach.
