PYS Travel

PYS's U10-High School Travel teams compete in the Coastal Youth Soccer League (Coastal) against opposing teams from the South Shore.

Our top ("Select") U12 and U14 teams in each age division will compete in either Division I or Division II of Coastal in the Spring, battling for a chance to represent Coastal at the Mass Tournament of Champions (MTOC) and compete for a state title.

Our U12 and U14 teams who do not compete in Division I and II, will compete in CYSL's Coutts Cup League with a chance to represent Pembroke in the Coutts Cup playoffs in June.

U10 teams compete in the CYSL Spring season, giving them a first taste of the excitement of competing against other towns on the South Shore.

Pembroke has had tremendous success competing in the CYSL, winning two state Division I titles in the Boys program, sending many teams to MTOC as Coastal Champions on both the boys and girls side, and being a consistent competitor in the Coutts Cup divisions.

Ages

PYS's Travel program is available to players of all skill levels eligible to play in our U14 (7th-8th Grade), U12 (5th-6th Grade) and U10 (3rd-4th Grade)** programs.

** (Note: U10 Players only compete in the Travel Program during the Spring Season)

PYS will field teams in the high school divisions, if there is enough player interest.

Season

PYS Travel teams in the U14 and U12 divisions compete in both the Coastal League Fall (September-early November) and Spring (April-early June) seasons.

Our U10 teams compete in the Coastal League only in the Spring.

The Fall Coastal League season is considered developmental, allowing teams to best develop for the Spring competitive season. The Spring season is competitive, resulting in the top teams qualifying for Coastal League playoffs.

For travel teams who qualify, playoffs are held in mid-June.

Where and When

All home games will be played at McCauley Fields at Hobomock Elementary School or at the Pembroke High School turf field.

The locations of away games are determined by the host towns.

Apart from makeup games, Coastal league games are scheduled for Saturdays.

Practices

Our Travel teams are expected to train twice a week during the season.

Practices will be held weeknights, either at the Hobomock Elementary School or at the Pembroke High School Turf.

The nights and times of practices will be determined based on the coach's schedule and availability of fields.

Games

Players should expect to play anywhere from 7-10 games in both the Fall and the Spring seasons.

The number of games played will be determined based on the number of teams in the player's division in the Coastal League.

Jerseys

All players are provided with a full Pembroke team kit (jersey, shorts and socks) for the Spring season.

Players should hold onto their uniforms following the season, as they will use their uniforms from the prior season in the Fall league games.

(Note: a new jersey will be provided in the Fall to any player who is new to the Pembroke Youth Soccer program, or who has outgrown a jersey)

Additional Training

Some Travel teams may elect to continue to train or compete in indoor soccer and/or futsal leagues over the winter.

These decisions are made on a team-by-team basis and may result in additional costs to players.

Tryouts and Player Evaluations

At the end of the Spring season, PYS holds coaches meetings to review player evaluations in order to plan for the following season and discuss player development opportunities.

Additionally, PYS conducts live player evaluations for players interested in playing for the top ("Select") team in their age division for the following year. All players in attendance are evaluated. These live player evaluations are held in early-June.
