Coaches Needed

Did you volunteer to coach a soccer team this fall? If so, you should have heard from the age group coordinator by now. If you haven't, please contact the appropriate coordinator as soon as possible.

U6 Needs Coaches - The U6 age group is very short of coaches this year. We need the parents of the U6 players to step up and volunteer. U6 coaching requires a minimal time commitment; one hour on Saturday mornings which consists of a 30 minute practice and a 30 minute game. There are no practices during the week for U6. In addition, all coaches will be provided with weekly practice plans from Mass Youth Soccer that can be used as a resource to make your coaching job easier. At your option, you can also attend a coaches course in nearby Rockland or Marshfield and PYS will reimburse the cost. We know... you don't know anything about soccer... the good new is, you do not need to have any experience in soccer at all to coach the young age groups.

Pembroke Youth Soccer and Paul Turner Ultimate Soccer Academy (PTUSA) have teamed up to offer players an exciting opportunity for additional training.  PTUSA has earned its outstanding reputation over the last 6 years by developing players of all ages and abilities. The Premier Training Academy offers competitive players a chance to train seasonally or year round with qualified coaches renowned for teaching the youth player. The Premier Training Academy prides itself on the professionalism of their staff and the innovation of their curriculum. The Academy focuses solely on the technical development of youth players and the understanding of their playing environment.  

Premier Training Academy Information

• Cost: If you are training..one night per week(9wks) = $160.00... two or more nights per week(9wks) = $250.00. Registered PYS players receive a 20% discount. 
• Flexible Schedule: Players will have the opportunity to train at all 5 sites, multiple days of the week without additional cost. Pembroke sessions will be Mondays, 5pm-7pm at the Pembroke Community Center Field.
• Fun Jamborees (4 v 4 Academy Tournament and the 8 v 8 Season Kick-Off).
• PTUSA Training Uniform.
• Player Evaluations.

Attention Spring Select Team Coach Candidates

During the spring season, PYS typically fields a select team in the Coastal Youth Soccer League (CYSL) Boys and Girls U12 and U14 divisions. This team usually competes in Division 1 against the top teams from other towns.

Coaches who are interested in becoming a Select Team coach need to submit a letter of intent and present it at the September PYS Board Meeting, Wednesday, September 10th, 7pm at the Pembroke Library. The letter of intent should detail the candidate's experience coaching or playing soccer, courses taken, what they can offer the players, and their team philosophy. The candidate presentations and selection process is usually the last order of business at the end of the board meeting.

Fall 2008/Spring 2009 Registration
Register Online to Avoid Late Fee!

Pembroke Youth Soccer is still taking registrations on a space available basis only.

If you register a player via the paper form, a $10 late fee needs to be added. The late fee does not apply when registering a player for spring only play. If you are registering a player for the first time, you must register the player via the paper form via US Mail and must provide proof of age (e.g. birth certificate, passport). The late fee is waived for Online Registration but an extra service fee is applied by the registration service.

This year rates were increased $15 to cover the cost of paying for the paving project.
