PYS Juggle Club
What is Juggling?
Juggling is the act of keeping the ball off the ground using any part of your body (feet,
thigh, chest, shoulders, and head) but not your HANDS!!
Why Juggle? Juggling can improve your game in many ways! Your "touch" or feel of the ball is an important part of your game. If you are a good soccer ball juggler, you are more likely to have a good touch when receiving the ball in games. It's a great way for you to learn how the ball reacts to different touches and surfaces. Juggling can also improve your confidence on the ball. Most of all, IT'S FUN!!!
When to Juggle? The nice thing about juggling is that you can do it on your own. Keep challenging yourself by trying to beat your own score. Juggling is also a great warmup to do when you get to practice. After a few minutes you will notice your heart rate rises and your muscles become loose.
How do I become a Member of the PYS Juggle Club?
First, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!! You can get into the Level 1 of the Juggle
Club with 10 juggles. We have 10 levels to keep you challenged. To get in the club
you must have a coach witness your accomplishment and submit the online form on your
behalf.
Are there any specific rules I need to know? Yes, see below:
* A PYS Coach or Board Member must witness and count the juggles and must the form on your
behalf.
* Ball must be an age appropriate size #3, #4, or #5 soccer ball (no beach balls).
* Juggles can be with the feet, thighs, head, or shoulders and must propel the ball upward
to count (i.e. balls that glance off body parts and do not go UP will not count toward the
total).
* More than five consecutive touches with the same body part will not count towards the
total (i.e. if you juggle ten times in a row with your right foot it will only count five
towards the total).
