Your CED - Your Coaching Education Director
(CED) is Ralph Perrotto (e-mail). He is
happy to help you or point you in the right direction regarding coaching topics such as
coaching education needs, practice ideas or issues, or general soccer questions. You
should continue to see your division coordinator for other issues.
Pembroke's Coaching Development
Plan - PYS plans to offer
Mass Youth Soccer "G" license courses in Pembroke every August to help any new
coaches, especially U6/U8 coaches, get the basic understanding they need. We will also
offer periodic "F" license courses. If we have a large enough pool of active,
eligible coaches, we will offer an "E" license course. We will also periodically
offer specialty clinics on particular topics of interest.
Course Reimbursement - PYS will reimburse coaches up to $160 per
calendar year for coaching courses. Eligible courses include clinics and license programs
offered through Mass Youth Soccer and USYSA. Questionable courses are to be brought before
the PYS board for approval prior to enrollment. If a Mass Youth Soccer
course is being hosted in Pembroke, you would typically register and pay
online through the Mass Youth Soccer website and shortly after attending
the course, you will receive a reimbursement check in the mail. For
courses outside of Pembroke, you will need to send documentation of the
course taken (copy of certificate) and amount paid. Send this info to
our Treasurer, Gary Parker,
PO Box 323, Pembroke, MA 02359.

Registration and KidSafe |
Coach Registration - Any adult who is expected to be left in charge of a team or who assists with
practice or at games is considered a coach. All coaches must be registered through
PYS. To register as a coach, e-mail
Registrar/KidSafe Coordinator Mike Tropeano (email) your full legal name with middle
initial along with your date of birth and what team you are coaching. Registration
of coaches is important because it ensures that the appropriate criminal background checks
are performed through the Mass Youth Soccer CORI/KidSafe Program (see below). It
also provides medical and liability coverage for the coach and PYS. This applies to both
the fall and spring seasons.
CORI/KidSafe Prorgam -
State law requires that all
coaches/volunteers
complete a CORI/KidSafe form so a national background check can be performed.
The form is available online via the Mass Youth Soccer website (Online
CORI/KidSafe Form).
If you have not completed this form for Pembroke Youth Soccer since
2005, please resubmit the form.
More information on the Mass Youth Soccer KidSafe
Program can be found on their website.
More
info.
Your KidSafe Coordinator is Mike Tropeano (email).
